Maggie and Charlie were married in May in Birmingham, Alabama. Though they both graduated from The University of Alabama, it was after college that the two were introduced by mutual friends during football season at a classic Tuscaloosa staple. Charlie took Maggie for dinner the following Monday at Frank Stitt's Bottega Cafe, which is where Charlie got down on one knee nearly 2 years later. The two were wed in a formal ceremony at the beautiful Cathedral of St. Paul, followed by a reception at the historic Thomas Jefferson Tower. Maggie's florist, Holly Carlisle of Rosegolden, took a garden inspired approach to the gilded age in order to bring her vision to life at their reception. Seasonal focal flowers included foxglove, peonies, and ranunculus. Preserved lunaria and gilded plumosa added a subtle reflective quality and add a bit of lustre to the flower arrangements. Glowing candelabras and pillar candles in mixed height hurricanes were placed throughout the reception space to create romantic atmosphere.
