Avy and Hogan were married at the Island Home Airport Hanger last October. In 1943, H.F. Wattenbarger, Hogan's great grandfather, purchased the property for use as a farm and private airport. That same year he began leasing the airport for the wartime training of 300 Army Air Cadets after being approached by the US Air Force. After the training program ended, Wattenbarger resumed operation as a private airport and farm. On October 4, 1947 Hogan's grandparents were married at there, inspiring Avy and Hogan's own wedding.
