Catherine & Zach's Golf Course Wedding

Catherine and Zach had a beautiful wedding at the Hermitage Golf Course in Nashville. They made points of acknowledging traditions, such as a fun version of 'something blue'- he wore blue socks to match her blue shoes. They also celebrated their wedding with some sweet and sentimental touches, like the letters they wrote to each other and tucked away with a bottle of wine for their 10th anniversary. An easy idea that will give them something special to look forward to with each anniversary.

A big thanks to Celladora Photography for sharing this wedding!

How did you meet? How long was your engagement? We met the summer before college. I had a friend that was interested in one of Zach's friends at the time. However, they never dated and we ended up spending time together.  We went to the same high school, but never knew each other. Our engagement was a year and a half long. Our wedding was in Nashville, TN, but all of the planning was done from Columbia, SC where we currently live.

Was there anything sentimental or extra special about your wedding you want to tell us about? On the day of the wedding I gave each of my parents an embroidered handkerchief with a special message for the big day.  We also included a wine box that was built by my husband's father.  This box will be opened on our tenth anniversary.  Inside the box is a bottle of pinot noir and letters that we wrote to one another on the day of the wedding.

What was your favorite part of your wedding day? Our first look where we finally had a few moments alone together. We got some really special pictures during this before the ceremony.

Is there anything you would change or do differently? I would have bustled my dress.  My dress was not long, therefore I did not have this performed when the dress was tailored.  I didn't think I needed it. I am now a firm believer in the bustle. It would have made it way easier to dance. Our wedding was at the end of June and also an outdoor wedding.  In hindsight I would have planned the wedding earlier when temperatures were a little cooler.

What do you love most about being married? I take comfort in knowing that I have found my soulmate.  As well, I have found a partner to help face all of life's challenges. Our first year has been great, and we are looking forward to many more happy years together!
