Jessica & Owen's Sewanee Wedding

This simple and beautiful chapel wedding in Sewanee, TN was captured by Anjeanette Illustration Photography. While this wedding features many traditional themes Jessica and Owen included some fun and spunky details into their big day. Speaking of details, can you believe Owen hand forged Jessica's ring?

How did you meet? Owen and I met while attending school at Tennessee Technological University. We both played the trombone and were in and out of the Bryan Fine Arts Building. Owen met my roommate, Angela, in the Masters Singers Choir. The three of us bumped into each other one evening, and Angela introduced us. I was quite taken with the styled red hair, and red toe shoes.

Was there anything sentimental or extra special about your wedding you want to tell us about? Our wedding was held at All Saints’ Chapel in Sewanee, TN. This was the first church we attended as a couple and the first time we took communion together. During the ceremony it felt like everything came full circle as we were married in the Chapel and our first act as husband and wife was to carry the wafers and wine to the alter for our guests to partake. Owen’s dream was to be married by his grandfather, an Episcopal Priest. His dream came true when Rev. Robert Buck happily married us just as he had Owen’s father and uncles.

What was your favorite part of your wedding day? My favorite part was when my husband lifted the veil, cupped my face in his hands, kissed me and called me, “Wifey.”

Is there anything you would change or do differently? Not at all! We had God, bells, tears, laughter, dancing, singing, and fireworks! I thought my wedding was perfect and I wouldn’t change a thing.

What do you love most about being married? Other than calling Owen, “Handsome Hubs?” I would have to say the commitment. The idea that good and bad seasons will come, but we are just going to link arms, look to God, and plow through this crazy life together. I love that I can love someone enough to bind myself to them the rest of my life, and he is willing to do the same.
